LAVERTON 30 mph ZONE

As you will recall, as part of the Traffic Safety initiative commenced by the Parish Council in 2019, we requested that NYCC Highways create a 30mph zone for Laverton, specifically with the aim of reducing the speed at which vehicles enter the village. The plan below has now been drawn up by NYCC Highways, and associated documentation published.

The Parish Council recently sought comments on the proposals from residents and those which we received agreed with our view that there is some merit in extending the zone to the north and south to incorporate both of the bends immediately prior to the zone limits shown. We have forwarded these views to Highways and are awaiting a response. If you have any further comments to make please contact us or get in touch directly with NYCC.
